create a peer response to There are many different theories and conceptual models that were made from nursing and related fields for use in advanced nursing practice. One nursing theory is the Dorothea Orem’s theory of self-care deficit theory. This theory revolves around patient care and their daily needs. There are many patients that are not able to take care of their daily needs such as daily showering and dressing and this is where nursing interventions are needed. The nurses use their clinical skills and do a complete assessment of the patient and determine how they can assist their patients. The nurses help their patients and support them to become as independent as they can. There are some patients that may have physical disabilities or mental problems that may limit them to take care of themselves (Tanaka, 2022). There are many reasons for physical limitations such as age, post procedure or other physical disabilities that may lead to physical limitations. This theory is based on the idea that the nurses do an assessment and determine how they can help their patients and try to encourage them to become more involved in their care. There are many studies that proves that the more involved the patient is in their care, the better chance they have at recovery. The Watson’s theory of human caring is about the human behavior and the importance of caring in the nursing theory. The theory also focuses on being compassionate and listening to the patients and being present while listening to them by providing care. The nurses build a deeper relationship with the patients and promote trust and respect for each other. There are patients that may have chronic illnesses and may have lost motivation and may need the extra push from the nurses. The Watson’s theory of human caring can be based on the idea of conditioning and how the human behavior will adapt to those conditioning (Montana-Rhodes, 2024). The Watson’s theory is based on learning through reinforcement. Behavior can also be conditioned through reinforcement and through reward and punishment belief. The Roy’s adaption model was based on the idea that people are very adaptive to changes and that nurses can also use this model to enhance the interventions for their patients. Once the nurses have done their assessments on their patients, they can change their interventions for their patients to optimize their health. The nurses can help their patients to adapt to any changes to their environment and because this theory is based on the patients and the assessment, the nurses tailor the care for the individual patient. This model can be used in many different settings such as acute care settings and community-based care because this is a patient centered care model. These models have been used to conduct many different researches and studies to help nurses connect better with their patients.
