In the aspect of healing, somebody whose state of wellness lacks either of these attributes means that caring for such an individual requires looking at them in their entirety. This is holistic care. To improve the quality of life, addressing the individual and not simply just the ailment (Sinha, 2024). In providing comfort for these attributes, therapeutic care becomes multifaceted and interpersonal (Tavares et al., 2022). The Christian approach to this follows values such as an advocation of autonomy, justice, and beneficence. While not exclusive to this culture, the nurse’s spirituality in such ethics is a motivator to put this into action as an act called compassion. Matthew 14:14 notes that Jesus saw a great number of ill people and healed them in an act of compassion. Motivating factors of his principles is an example of motivating values put into compassion. As such, compassionate healing addresses with love and empathy to work towards the correction of the discord in its entirety. Meaning that from a perspective of spirituality, compassionate care appears to honor the person as they are. A person in need of healing.
